September 20, 2023 – Los Angeles, CA – Relativity Space, the first company to 3D print rockets and build the largest metal 3D printers in the world, today announced the appointment of Kim Nakamaru as the company's new General Counsel. As a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, Kim brings a wealth of experience and expertise in corporate law, governance, intellectual property, risk management, and operations to this pivotal role.

Kim joins Relativity from EagleView Technologies, a leader in geospatial technology, where she served as General Counsel. At EagleView, Kim played a crucial role in strategically navigating the company through high-stakes litigation and commercial transactions, establishing the company’s first-ever IP strategy and function, enhancing risk management and corporate governance practices, and driving significant operational improvements.  Her savvy team-building abilities and business process reengineering enabled the department and company to successfully scale while continuing to execute on high-impact strategic transactions, drive innovation and ensure customer success across multiple highly regulated industries.

There, she provided trusted counsel to the Board and executive team on a wide range of legal and compliance matters, including bet-the-company litigation, IP strategy, and complex M&A, capital markets and SEC/securities matters.  She was also instrumental in establishing public-company governance best practices and elevating the company’s legal operations, global compliance and risk management capabilities.

Prior to her in-house roles, Kim practiced M&A and corporate law at McGuireWoods LLP in Los Angeles and clerked for Judge J. Spencer Letts of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.

She received her bachelor’s degree from Princeton University and law degree from Loyola Law School. Additionally, Kim serves on the board of the California Women’s Law Center, where she makes a meaningful impact in the pursuit of equality and justice.

“We are excited to welcome Kim Nakamaru to the team as General Counsel, confident that her extensive legal acumen and leadership will play a pivotal role in advancing the company's mission to revolutionize aerospace manufacturing and launch services,” said Tim Ellis, Co-Founder and CEO of Relativity Space.

“I am thrilled and honored to join the Relativity team. I am highly motivated by Relativity’s audacious goals and excited to contribute to the success of its mission and next stage of growth,” said Kim Nakamaru, General Counsel of Relativity Space.

About Relativity Space
Relativity Space is building humanity’s multiplanetary future. With a long-term vision to build an industrial base on Mars and upgrade the industrial base on Earth, we are enabling a future where interplanetary life fundamentally expands the possibilities for human experience.

We invented a new approach to design, print, and fly our own rockets, starting with the world’s first 3D printed rocket, Terran 1, and Terran R, our large medium to heavy payload launch vehicle designed for reuse. Starting with these orbital class vehicles, Relativity is focused on offering a highly attractive launch service offering, by designing and manufacturing reusable rockets that offer high performance and reliability, while costing less to produce and fly.

As a vertically integrated technology platform, Relativity is at the forefront of an inevitable shift toward software-defined manufacturing. Founded on the premise that additive manufacturing, alongside artificial intelligence and autonomous robotics, will deliver eventual superiority over traditional aerospace manufacturing methods. Relativity is leveraging the best of 3D printing capabilities today, and expanding the potential for what 3D printing will make possible tomorrow. Relativity’s Stargate metal 3D printers enable rapid product iteration, unlocking significant improvements to product development and production.
